Cepea, 10/06/2025 – Secex data analyzed by Cepea show Brazilian wheat imports continue to rise in 2025, totaling 3,092 million tonnes in the partial figures for the year (through May), the largest volume since 2001. Over 12 months, nearly 7 million tonnes arrived in the country, a quantity not seen in six years. According to the Center, greater availability of Argentine wheat over the past two years has favored Brazilian purchases. Amid this flow, researchers explain that domestic mills continue to hold satisfactory stocks, with no need for heavy purchases during this Brazilian off-season period. Growers, in turn, are focused on fieldwork for the new season. As for prices, Cepea surveys show wheat grain prices have remained under pressure since April, when they reached the year's highest levels.
